YOGA
Yoga (deriving from the sanskrit 'yuj') means union - 'Yogaś citta-vritti-nirodhaḥ' - Yoga is the cessation of fluctuations of the mind. There's a common misunderstanding that yoga is a method of 'escaping' from reality or transcending the real world for some otherworldly state, when in fact the opposite is true - yoga is a clarity, a returning to the source, escaping the illusion, the distractions, distortions and disorientation - finding the center from which all light emanates. Through the integration of breathe, movement and mind we can find that clarity and focus in asana practice (yoga poses) which can then continue to echo through our daily lives. We want to welcome you all whether you're an experienced practitioner or a complete beginner to join us in this practice which has immeasurably enriched our own lives. The cost of these classes is based on fairly sustaining our time and the work that goes into preparing and teaching them, but it is important to us that money is not an obstacle to your practice so please contact us if money is an issue.
HEAR classes are taught via Zoom by either Lewis or Suzi Cook, both Yoga Alliance certified yoga teachers trained in India in Vinyasa Yoga.
We offer a weekly schedule of classes including a gentle vinyasa class on Thursdays and an extended sunday session with Lewis and regular classes on Wednesday and Saturday with Suzi. The full schedule is below along with links to sign up.
