Third Ear is a collaborative project lead by Lewis and Suzi of Free Love - based around the exploration of union between Yoga and Sound. Through these explorations our ambition extends from the epiphanical awakening to the wildly mundane with our belief that these two seeming polarities are deeply connected.

We seek to explore non-duality in practice; to find a synchronicity between musician-music-teacher- teaching-practitioner-practice; all to be experienced as an interwoven singularity.

We seek an international community and universal perspective inviting artists, teachers and meditators from varying disciplines and styles to explore these ideas together. In doing so, we explore the parallels that exist across the breadth of conscious experience in all its vibrancy- ascetism and hedonism - indulgence and abstinence - minimalist and maximalist - futurist and traditional - the macro and the micro.

We're very excited to announce the second in our series of livestreamed yoga and sound collaborations will take place on Thursday 11th June. Our first event featured Bradley Zero who provided a transcendental soundtrack from his home in London to a warming core vinyasa class lead by our own resident, Lewis. We can't wait to follow up and will be by inviting Glaswegian and Copenhagen resident, Perko to take the sonic helm collaborating with our other resident teacher, Suzi who'll be leading a heart opening vinyasa class. Joining the likes of Jamie XX, SOPHIE, Denis Sulta, Peder Mannerfelt releasing on Glasgow's treasured Numbers label, Perko's music explores the textural realms of UK Bass music unafraid to touch experimental territory to create a heady soup of found-sound sonics ripely punctuated with chrome-cased IDM intoxicated Drum and Bass quick-FIRE. His latest release on Bandcamp focusing on the delicate touch found throughout his work, is a series of field recordings from around Copenhagen inviting artists to use them as they wish. We're very privileged and excited to have Perko collaborate as part of our expanding community marrying conscious movement with sound and can't wait to hear his contribution at the next Third Ear Yoga & Sound.

  • This Vinyasa flow will focus on balancing the heart chakra by stabilising the muscles and NRG above and below. The class will be led by Third Ear co-founder, artist musician and yoga teacher, Suzi Cook. 

 

  • The class will be suitable for all levels of experience with variations on poses for different ability levels. We ask you take care with your body and take into consideration that some variations will be for more advanced practitioners - so be gentle to yourself if this is your first class!

  • Classes are suggested donation of £6 specifically to remove any financial boundaries between practitioner and practice - particularly in a time where many people have lost employment. As musicians, our livelihood has also been hit by the pandemic for forseeable future so all donations are greatly received!

Since the beginning of quarantine, we have been hosting the Third Ear Yoga & Sound events as a way to connect and explore with a community throughout this worldwide headfuck. As well as those events, we've started to offer weekly classes via zoom which take a different focus every two weeks. Yoga is the practice of balance - a practice that can deliver us from the illusory reality that distorts our perspectives and brings us ultimately to the realisation that we are all oscillations of pure ~NRG~, an echo from the chamber of universal consciousness. Through practicing, we can connect to the source - the river that feeds all streams - and begin to see and feel that ~NRG~ in our daily life. Even mundanity is anexposition of absurd beauty when we experience it with the context and clarity of universal consciousness. Through control and balance, yoga is an invitation to that experience, starting and ending with your breathe.
